#FreshStyleFits: “Brandon’s Closet” – Dec. 27, 2016

“Brandon’s Closet” is designed to give our readers an in-depth look at the styles directly from my closet and where to pick them up.

Between legendary Georgetown guard Allen Iverson and the fictional character, Kyle Watson, in Above The Rim, the Hoyas color way was all the rage in the mid-90’s. In 2015, the Jordan Collection released a mean Hoya-inspired Retro 11 Low. I took that Navy / Grey theme and found a vintage Villa Exclusive Starter jacket to complete the look. With a little help from a Jordan 4 Navy set in my closet, I had the look I wanted.

Toss in the irony of a Young Iverson double crossing Michael Jordan during AI’s rookie campaign in Philly and an Instagram caption (see below) that caught Shane Laflin‘s attention was born.

Here’s Where To Find The Clothing Pieces:

Air Jordan 4 Hat (SOLD OUT)

Air Jordan 4 Hoodie (SOLD OUT)

Georgetown Starter Jacket: RU Villa ($69)

Embellish NYC Biker Jeans: Embellish ($99)

Retro Jordan 11 Georgetown Low: eBay ($225 – $300 new)

#FreshStyleFits: “JD’s Closet” – Dec. 16, 2016

“JD’s Closet” is designed to give our readers an in-depth look at the styles directly from my closet and where to pick them up.

By: Jordan Davis @JDavisPSB

During a business trip with my boy Larry Rhinehart to cover Keil Moore‘s Fall Showcase in Philly, I had to sport a little west coast style while still trying to keep warm during a cold November up north. The whole outfit is from one of my favorite stores, Pacsun.

The Breakdown:

Visit Pacsun.com to purchase:

Hat: Neff Daily Beanie $16
Top: Pink Mediator Long Sleeve Relaxed $34
Bottoms: Levi’s 519 Skinny Rock ’N Roll Jeans $70
Shoes: HUF Sutter White Shoes (Palm Tree limited Editions) $90

I wore a pink sweater in Philly and didn't get clowned so I'm doing alright.

#FreshStyleFits: “Alli’s Closet” – Dec. 16, 2016

“Alli’s Closet” is designed to give our readers an in-depth look at the styles directly from my closet and where to pick them up.

I’m wearing a white, long sleeve Metallica shirt. It’s actually my girl friend’s shirt, she got the shirt from H&M. If you’re into cool band t-shirts, check H&M before you go look at Pacsun. H&M typically has some really cool band shirts for about half of the price of Pacsun’s t-shirts. I decided to pair the trendy band t-shirt with a choker necklace that I bought from Icing. It came in a pack of two and was only about $8. I highly recommend Icing if you’re searching for some new chokers to purchase.

My jeans are black jeggings from American Eagle. They have rips in the knees that I cut myself. I lean toward jeggings more so than regular jeans because they are far more comfortable and stretchy.

I’m wearing black low top Converse today. These shoes are pretty much essential to every girl’s shoe collection. They match with most everything and are very comfortable shoes to have on your feet all day.

Here’s Where To Find The Clothing Pieces:

Metallica Tee: H&M – $29

Black Tattoo Choker: Icing – $5

Black Leggings: American Eagle – $26

Converse Chuck Taylor: Nordstrom – $49

This outfit was a fall look for me this year. I loved the color scheme that Louis Vuitton Creative Director Kim Jones brought to the table on this collaborative with NikeLab. I’ve got a variation that I’ll roll out when spring hits so don’t steal this from me just yet.

#FreshStyleFits: Winter ’16 Style Guide – “Pull and Bear” – Dec. 2, 2016

I was introduced to the brand “Pull and Bear” through the ASOS website. The company features a variety of style options for men and women. After researching the Winter 2016 collection, their jackets are both stylish and cost effective.

#FreshStyleFits: OVO Jordan Retro 12 Collection – Nov. 1, 2016

Drake dropped multiple fashion pieces to coincide with the release of the OVO Jordan Retro 12 collaboration earlier this fall. From bags to headbands, there were a variety of pieces designed to match the shoe.

By: Brandon Clay @PSBPopCulture

The Breakdown

I got my hands on the shoes back in the spring but had to wait on the release of the full line to get the accents pieces to match. With a trip to Philly and New Jersey on deck this weekend for the Keil Moore Showcase, I decided to rock the 12’s with the matching Top Loader Backpack and matching Duffle. Special shoutout to my photographer Larry Rhinehart for capturing the outfit as only he can.

#FreshStyleFits: Fall ’16 Style Guide – Boots and Flannels – Oct. 4, 2016

Boots and Flannels season is upon us. I have to agree with my man Logan Pitts (@Logan_Pittsss23) when he says, “it’s what we’ve been waiting for.” The best part about the flannel with boots look is that there are so many variations of this simple and classic style.

By: Jordan Davis @JDavisPSB

When it comes to choosing the right flannel, you’ll definitely want something saucy. That said, watch for material because a thick cut can limit your styling options. Urban Outfitters is my favorite, ranging from $45 to $120 per shirt. That might sound a bit pricey but trust me that’ll be EXACTLY the material I’m describing. Their brand is made to be worn in multiple ways with just the right fabric and length off the rack. Now how you rock it is entirely in your hands. Sometimes I go classic and just leave it unbuttoned with a white tee shirt or vintage tee underneath, or even over a thin hoodie on the days where it’s freezing out. I’ll even tie it around my waist underneath a tee shirt like the picture above.

As for the boots, many people have many different styles and that’s okay. Each style of boot (aside from your country concert boots) goes great with this look. As for me, I love Kenneth Cole mid cut gentlemen boots or Clarks boots for men. Both give me the slim look, matching the theme for the attire, while also giving me an extra inch or two so my girlfriend has someone to look up to when we step out for dinner.

Brandon Clay’s Take:

I see what my man JD is doing with his fashion game this fall / winter. The flannels and boot combo isn’t in my style wheelhouse but he executes the look with the crispness of a boss. I did a little research and the combo gives me a real Nick Young / Jordan Clarkson feel out in Los Angeles. You can’t mention those two without name dropping D’Angelo Russell as well. Any of those guys all pulled the flannel look off at different points over the past year.

#FreshStyleFits: Fall ’16 Style Guide – Raglan Shirts – Oct. 3, 2016

Raglan shirts are the latest add to my collection. Big assist to Taylor Johnson for this one. She put me on the look during the latter part of the spring as a heads up into what she saw coming this fall. I noticed that one of my boys, Dain Pool, is also rocking the look this upcoming season as well.

By: Brandon Clay @PSBPopCulture

I like the style as a change up to either a regular tee or v-neck version. The key for me is a shirt that fits throughout the neck line, arms and isn’t too short at the bottom. Both PacSun and a company called Verley have caught my attention with multiple color ways and a nice fit off the rack. Both companies hover in the $20-30 per shirt range. Toss them on with the “dad hat” that is also a go-to in my fall / winter wardrobe and it’s time to let Larry Rhinehart snap the pic.

#FreshStyleFits: Fall ’16 Style Guide – Suits – Sept. 7, 2016

As each season passes, I’m more willing to adjusting my style with crisp looks that I takeaway from other people’s wardrobe. This fall and winter, that train of thought will extend to my suit collection.

By: Brandon Clay @PSBPopCulture

Devin Booker and Dwayne Wade are two people who caught my attention with their loafer, no sock look and a pant that stops right at the ankle. Now, I will admit that I’ve left multiple pair of my slacks still in my closet with my traditional cuff at the top of the loafer look. That said, I took some of my suits with a little more color as well as some linen pants and had them custom tailored to create that newer vibe. I’ve seen the look with and without the cuff at the bottom so I chose to stay with the cuff.

I’ve found that a Perry Ellis Slim Fit suit off the rack is a great and inexpensive way to start the look. It’s perfect once I get it tailored after the fact. Then it’s about finding the right accessories and loafers. I’ll leave that up to you.

Here’s a look at both my look as well as a look at Booker’s and Wade’s:

#FreshStyleFits: Closing Ceremony Jordan 11’s – Sept. 6, 2016

Jordan dropped a gold colorway of their iconic Jordan 11 collection called the Closing Ceremony. Here’s my take:

By: Brandon Clay @PSBPopCulture

Jordan nailed this one bringing out a gold edition in timing with the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Jordan 11 has become a staple for sneaker heads worldwide and this version gives them yet another opportunity to add diversity to their closet.
