#iTunesSounds: Beyoncé & Jay-Z – “Everything Is Love” – June 24, 2018

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are in the middle of the On The Run II World Tour. They dropped an album last weekend that caught us all by surprise. Sitting at nine tracks and just under 40 minutes, it delivers substance in a timely fashion. Beyoncé is amazing showing as much versatility with her blend of singing and emerging rap skills, punchlines as she has in her career blurring the lines of a traditional singer yet again. On Jay’s end, he is delivering bars in different flows with the punch of someone 20 years his junior. S. Carter will be 50 in December 2019. Incredible.

#iTunesSounds: Kanye West – “Ye” – June 1, 2018

As the leader of G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West is in charge of marketing for an entire team of quality artists including himself. The 2018 theme is seven-track albums for releasing throughout the summer for the whole crew all executive produced by West himself. He’s in Jackson, Wyoming putting together the music. West’s personal album is the second one in the string of releases. As we’ve come to expect from ‘Ye, the music is a bit scattered at times especially early in the album. By the time we reach “Wouldn’t Leave,” Kanye settled into his bag delivering the type of sample-infused production that made him a star musically early in his career.
