#PSBAllAccess: “Elite Basketball Academy Camp Director” – Mar. 10, 2017

When I started Peach State Basketball, I remembering telling my dad that I never saw the camp directors who ran the ones I grew up attending except for the first hour and last hour of camp. They definitely weren’t coaching my team at camp.

I made myself a promise to grow the game by making sure all of our campers leave feeling like they learned something from me personally. Hopefully, when they stop playing that hands on influence will help them want to give back to the same game that has raised me.

Working with up-and-coming prospects like Isaiah Reed of Fla., make me remember my days at camp and how much I took away from each experience. It’s a privilege to be in this position not a right. I take that very seriously and am grateful to be able to work with the next generation. My biggest goal is to give them a person in their life who they can look up to. Hopefully, they see how hard I work and realize they can be even more productive as an adult than I ever will be.

Hopefully, our crew is just getting started and my actions will continue to lead us all the way down the pathway to success.

#PSBSportsChop: “Mind Over Body: Playing in the N.F.L. at 38” – Terence Newman – Mar. 10, 2017

It’s rare for a cornerback to survive a decade in the N.F.L. let alone 15 seasons. That’s exactly what Terence Newman of the Minnesota Vikings is in the process of doing. Most guys get moved from cornerback to safety as they age but Newman is defying the odds. He gives us a look at how he’s managed to beat the numbers:

By: Brandon Clay @PSBPopCulture

The Breakdown:

Newman provides a fairly in-depth breakdown of what he does to prepare all year long. He’s the oldest cornerback in the league by five years and made 1.65 million last season so I’m definitely paying attention to how he’s making it happen. It was a good read even for me as I continue to change my way of living (exercise and food intake).

#PSBSportsChop: “The Tree” – Jeff Capel – Mar. 10, 2017

Duke associate head basketball coach Jeff Capel III has long been a favorite of mine dating back to his playing days at Duke. Capel was so talented that legendary hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur wore his Blue Devil jersey at one point. Like us all, Capel III has a family. His father, Jeff II, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). Capel III took time to document the highs, lows and the stories that have defined his relationship with his father over the years in this article.

The Breakdown:

This article almost brought me to tears. At one point, Capel is complaining about Duke wanting sympathy while starting on the No. 2 team in the country as a freshman.

Capel’s dad tells him โ€œMan, SHUT THE F*** UP. Stop calling home and complaining. And just play.โ€

#iTunesSounds: Trey Songz – “Tremaine” – Mar. 3, 2017

Trey Songz has elevated himself to the top of the RnB world through a combination of his music and his appearance. Songz aka “Mr. Steal Your Girl” is back with his latest album on March 24th. He’s releasing a single a week to coincide with his web series, “The Playboy.” To date, he’s released three songs and it has a feel that reminds me of arguably his most complete studio ready album, Ready (2009).

The Breakdown:

All three tracks are quality music. My favorite might be the most recent release, “Song Goes Off.” Listen to all three songs here:

#FreshStyleFits: โ€œBrandonโ€™s Closetโ€ โ€“ Reebok Question’s – Mar. 3, 2017
